Internship Overview
Waterberg District Municipality in Modimolle, Limpopo, welcomes applications from unemployed South African graduates for its Municipal Finance Management Internship Programme (MFMIP) 2025. It is a structured training initiative designed to provide practical experience in municipal finance.
Internship Details
- Location: Modimolle, Limpopo
- Contract Duration: 36 months (fixed-term)
- Stipend: R100,000 per annum (all-inclusive)
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12
- A three-year National Diploma or BCom Degree in one of the following fields:
- Financial Management
- Accounting
- Economics
- Finance (including Risk Management and/or Auditing)
- No prior work experience required
- Must be between 21 and 35 years old
- Must not have previously participated in an internship programme
Key Learning & Work Areas
Interns will gain hands-on exposure to:
- Implementing GRAP standards and budget reforms
- Preparing financial and performance reports
- Managing change, risk, and projects
- Overseeing expenditure, revenue, and supply chain functions
- Applying Municipal Finance Management Act (MFMA) regulations
- Managing assets in a municipal environment
