Programme Overview
Marula Platinum Mine, part of the Implats Group, invites suitably qualified South African youth to apply for the 2025 Engineering Learnership Programme. This structured programme combines on-the-job and theoretical training to help candidates become qualified artisans in various engineering trades.

Trades Offered
- Diesel Mechanic
- Boilermaker Plater
- Electrical
- Fitting (including Machining)
Minimum Requirements
- Grade 12 / Std 10 / NQF Level 4 equivalent (essential)
- N2 Certificate with four (4) completed subjects or NCV Level 4 in a relevant trade (essential)
- Willingness to:
- Write a knowledge test and psychometric assessment
- Attend a formal interview
- Obtain a valid medical fitness certificate (Red Ticket)
- Complete Heat Tolerance Screening (HTS)
Key Responsibilities and Learning Outcomes
- Assist artisans with technical tasks such as fixing, replacing, and maintaining equipment
- Complete both on-the-job and off-the-job training phases to earn an artisan qualification
- Adhere to Marula Mine’s safety standards and operational regulations
- Work under the guidance of a coach or foreman in a supervised environment
- Learn fault diagnosis, problem-solving, and basic reporting
- Maintain equipment to reduce production losses
- Gain basic supervisory skills with limited supervisory responsibilities
