WaterAid is seeking a dynamic and experienced leader to serve as the Global Coordinator for the End Water Poverty (EWP) coalition. This role offers the opportunity to influence global water and sanitation policies, advocate for human rights, and lead a Southern-led, grassroots-focused movement.

Job Opportunity

As the Global Coordinator, you will steer EWP’s strategic direction, oversee fundraising efforts, and manage impactful campaigns such as “Claim Your Water Rights.” This position requires a leader who can balance high-level advocacy with grassroots engagement, ensuring that the coalition’s work is both effective and inclusive.

Key Responsibilities

  • Define and implement EWP’s vision and strategic priorities
  • Lead strategic and annual planning with regional leads
  • Ensure alignment with Southern-led values, decolonization, and localization principles
  • Identify and secure new funding opportunities
  • Oversee campaign delivery and ensure member engagement
  • Manage and support secretariat staff and consultants
  • Represent EWP in external forums and build partnerships

Qualifications & Experience

  • 10+ years of experience in the Global South, preferably in human rights or water justice
  • Experience leading or working with global coalitions
  • Proven fundraising and budget management success
  • Track record of impactful campaigns achieving policy change
  • Strong political judgment from a Southern perspective
  • Fluent in English; conversational French or Spanish is desirable
  • Born and raised in the Global South is an advantage
